Dan Phillips is Executive Director at Macquarie Group. Dan joined Macquarie in January 1989 and founded Macquarie’s Technology Principal Investment Business in 1996.The Technology Principal Investment team works with entrepreneurs to help build and grow their businesses.
Dan has more than 15 years experience providing venture capital and investment services to high growth companies in Australia, Asia and the US. This includes four years working in Shanghai, where he grew the investment business in China.
Dan’s early career at Macquarie was in banking, where he provided lending, leasing and other structured finance solutions to Macquarie’s clients.
Dan currently serves as Director of a number of companies including Nuix Pty Limited, an Australian provider of eDiscovery solutions; Property Exchange Australia Limited (PEXA), a national e-conveyancing system for property transactions; Next Payments Pty Limited, an Australian innovative ATM Deployer; RedEye Apps, the first secure cloud-based drawings and data management platform; RecordPoint Software Holdings Pty Ltd, an Australian provider of enterprise records management solution and Haventec Pty Ltd, an Australian innovative and disruptive cyber security solution provider to the banking, e-commerce and government sectors.
Prior to joining Macquarie, Dan worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He previously served as a member of the Australian Federal Government’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Advisory Board.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia (ACA).
