Frances Deegan

Frances is a valuable member of the team with specialist knowledge and experience in the area of Corporations Law. In addition to being responsible for the provision of services to many of our clients, she plays a vital role in helping to traverse  the complexities of regulatory compliance in the administration of PAFs.

With an Arts/Law degree from the University of New South Wales, Frances founded her career in corporate law with CCH Australia, where she was appointed Company Law Editor. In this role she was responsible for maintaining their comprehensive Company Law loose-leaf service with regular updates on all new legislation, case law and other relevant guidelines.

Frances moved to London where she studied her Masters of Law at the University of London and worked with law firm Simmons & Simmons to develop their first knowledge and precedents system. Back in Australia she returned to CCH as a freelance editor and writer in the area of Employment Law.

Frances has been very interested in SVA since its inception, and was delighted when she was asked to act as Company Secretary.  Frances’ skills have been extremely useful in setting up the PAF service. She now very much enjoys her role with APS, delivering a quality service to clients to make it easy for them to support the community while knowing that the minutiae of compliance and administration is taken care of.

Frances has always been an active supporter of her community both locally and internationally.  She recently travelled to Cambodia to learn about the problems facing the communities there and to help villagers rebuild after the devastating floods of 2011.  In March 2012, Frances completed the 50km Coastrek walk to raise money for the Fred Hollows Foundation.
