Jane Kenny

Jane comes to APS with considerable experience in giving and grantmaking. She is passionate about connecting people and helping them to share their knowledge, experience and assets to solve problems and strengthen the community.

With a background in education, Jane’s interest in philanthropy was ignited when she joined Philanthropy Australia and established their Sydney office. Jane’s flair for connecting people saw significant growth in the membership in NSW and Queensland. In that role, Jane worked closely with community foundations, which led to a stint with Sydney Community Foundation. She then moved to the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW, managing their grants program and undertaking significant capacity-building work with grant applicants and recipients. Moving into an Adviser role at APS allows Jane to apply her expertise, knowledge and relationship building skills to continue to grow philanthropy.

Jane is passionate about finding forever homes for animals and supports several shelters caring for cats, dogs and donkeys. She volunteers with the annual appeal, Give A Dog A Bone, Keep Kitty Happy, which delivers Christmas gifts to animals spending the festive season in shelters. Jane is also a keen podcast listener and volunteered with the 2019 Australian Podcast Awards, judging in two categories and running front of house at the event. Jane was appointed as a Director of the Tenants’ Union of NSW in November 2019.

When she’s not at work, Jane loves nothing more than to curl up with her cat, a book and a slice of cake. Belonging to two book groups and three libraries, Jane is never short of a recommendation for what you should read next.
